You were once a pilot,
They trained you
To reach up high towards the stars,
But these dark days of heat and blight
Humankind can't see that far,
Because there's dust upon the air.

And we used to dream
We'd find a place to fly.
But amidst the fate we wrote
All our dreams fell to the side,
Like the world into dust
That fills the sky.

Now there's a ghost haunting your daughter's room,
An anomaly of gravity
Like science overruled.
Code in the light,

Sunlight on the dust motes in the air,
It's everywhere.

There's some coordinates that'll lead you off the map,
Our best hope for a new home,
No certainty that you'll ever come back -
But you have to go

So off you'll fly,
